What Roots collects
Roots collects information you provide when creating or using your
Roots account, including name, email address, profile details,
company and role information, location information, and LinkedIn
profile URL.
If you use the Roots LinkedIn Sync Chrome extension, Roots may receive
LinkedIn connection information from your signed-in LinkedIn session,
including names, LinkedIn profile URLs, headlines, profile image URLs,
LinkedIn identifiers, and connection dates when available.
How the Chrome extension works
The extension is a passive browser bridge. It does not provide its own
export workflow, does not download CSV files, and does not store Roots
authentication tokens. When you start sync from the Roots app, the app
asks the extension to fetch your LinkedIn connections from your local
browser session. The Roots app then sends the connection data to Roots
using your active authenticated session.
How Roots uses data
Roots uses profile and connection data to build your private Roots
network graph, show relevant people and relationship paths, improve
profile matching, and operate the Roots product.
Roots does not sell your LinkedIn connection data. Roots may use
service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, analytics,
enrichment, and security when needed to operate the product.
Data deletion
You can request deletion of your Roots account data or LinkedIn
connection sync data from the Roots
account deletion page or by emailing hello@roots.build.
Roots will process deletion requests as required by applicable law and
product obligations.
