Child safety

Child safety standards

Roots has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) or child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on our services.

Effective July 22, 2026

Our standards

Roots prohibits content or conduct that sexually exploits or endangers children. This includes grooming, sextortion, trafficking, sexual solicitation involving a child, sharing or requesting CSAM, and any attempt to normalize, promote, or facilitate child sexual abuse or exploitation.

These standards apply to all Roots accounts, profiles, posts, comments, communities, messages, uploads, and other activity on the service.

Reporting concerns

Members can report a post or comment from its in-app menu. Reports are sent to the Roots team for review. Members can also block another user from the same menu and manage blocked users in Settings.

To report a child safety concern directly, email hello@roots.build. Do not send or attach suspected CSAM. Include the relevant Roots account or content details and enough context for us to locate the material safely.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or the appropriate law-enforcement agency first.

How Roots responds

Roots reviews child safety reports promptly. We may remove content, restrict access, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve relevant information, and take other steps needed to protect users and the integrity of the service.

When we become aware of apparent CSAM or other conduct that must be reported, Roots reports it to the appropriate regional or national authorities as required by applicable law. We cooperate with lawful requests from authorized agencies while protecting user privacy and account security.

Child safety contact

The designated Roots contact for questions about CSAM prevention, these standards, or compliance is hello@roots.build.
